This 3-Year-Old Was Reportedly Asked To Leave KFC Because Her Face “Scared Diners”

The little girl from Mississippi is recovering from a recent pit bull attack in which she lost her right eye. Update: KFC says it will donate $30,000 to assist with the girl’s medical bills.

A few weeks ago, 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher was attacked by three pit bulls when they burst through the trailer of her grandfather’s house.

The little girl from Harrisville, Miss., was severely banged up; she broke her upper and lower jaws, nose, cheek bones, and right eye socket. She completely lost her right eye, and underwent multiple surgeries.

Last week, Victoria’s grandmother, Kelly Mullins, told WAPT-TV that after she took the little girl to a KFC in Jackson, Miss., for a snack, the two were asked to leave because the little girl’s scarred face frightened diners.

“I ordered a large sweet tea and her some mashed potatoes and gravy because she was hungry. She was on a feeding tube at the time, but I figured she could just swallow [the potatoes],” Mullins recalled. “They said, ‘We have to ask you to leave because her face is disrupting our customers.’ [Victoria] understood exactly what they said.”

A post about the incident that appeared on Victoria’s Facebook support page, Victoria’s Victories, got shared more than 2,000 times.

The post read:

Does this face look scary to you?
Last week at KFC in Jackson MS this precious face was asked to leave because her face scared the other diners. I personally will never step foot in another KFC again and will be personally writing the CEO.

KFC has since launched an investigation into the incident, KFC spokesman Rick Maynard said.

“We take this very seriously, as we have zero tolerance for any kind of hurtful or disrespectful actions toward our guests. Our investigation is ongoing, but we have been in touch with the family and are committed to doing something appropriate for this beautiful little girl and her family.”

He added, “We will also work with the franchisee to take appropriate action at the restaurant once the specifics of the incident are determined,”

Mullins said the experience has made the little girl self-conscious, and said she won’t even look in the mirror anymore.

“When we go to a store, she doesn’t even want to get out [of the car],” she said. “She’s 3 years old and she’s embarrassed about what she looks like. She’s embarrassed, and I hate it because she shouldn’t be. It ain’t her fault.”

Victoria is on antibiotics and still has multiple surgeries left, but is on the mend, according to her family’s fundraising website for her medical bills.

Update — June 15, 6:34 p.m. ET: KFC is still investigating the incident, but told ABC News it will give $30,000 toward Victoria’s medical bills.

  1. Love the update about what KFC is doing for her. I hope they fire the ass*ole who asked them to leave!!

  2. The who KFC chain shouldnt be criticized because of one jackass employee

  3. this story was said to be bogus

  4. OK its horrible yes but think of it from the employee POV idk if it is but a lot of fast food employee are teenager imagine being told by grownups that they are going to leave if u get u fired ect whatever if u don’t do something about it I’m not defending actions I’m just imagining why they might have felt the need to do it.

  5. You just can’t fix ignorant and low class people! Who would say that to ANYONE let alone a child! 🙁

  6. Cool that kfc remedied the situation by helping with medical costs, but how can anyone anywhere see anything but an adorable little girl? Some people are disgusting.

  7. I feel so sorry for this little girl, she is not scary in any shape or form. She is a pretty little girl, and I wish her the best, bless her.

  8. SHE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE ANGELand as far as taking the pov from a teenager who probably dont have a child to begin with so how could i look at that persons point of view when in fact he/she wouldnt have a true thought of it unless theylooked at it being thereson, daughter only child…… amount of scarscan make a child ugly………….sorry if i offended…not meant to

  9. They should but maybe they didn’t really know what to do BC they were being harassed by the jerks . they should have called a bigger boss to handle it. I worked at a restaurant and have had customer in my face BC of crying babies threatening my job if I didn’t make them leave. I wasn’t a kid who could be bullied by a grown up though. I would have told those people that they had as much right to be there as they did. I’m not excusing KFC actions just trying to understand.

  10. Ill continue to boycott KFC until they fire the assholes on shift when this happened.
I sincerely hope that the family of this beautiful little girl sue the owners, and managers, of that location. And KFC as a whole.
Not so much for the money, though I’m sure they could use it. But more to teach them that this disrespectful crap, will NOT be tolerated.
How dare they subject a defend less child to such humiliation.
They should be put in stocks, in town square, and have rotten fruit thrown at them. For a week.

  11. suposedly KFC is offering to pay $30k of her medical bills-i sure hope that’s true..nm-i see in the posts below that KFC has indeed offered to pay $30k for her bills..

  12. That little girl didn’t deserve that. That’s why jerks and jackasses like this KFC person shouldn’t breed. I can’t believe no one smacked him for doing that.

  13. sad world we now live in and getting worse .

  14. I saw this the other day? I haven’t been to a KFC in a long time, if it was the only place open, I’d keep on driving on. How ruthless are people to tell someone at well anywhere to leave the establishment. Shes 3 yrs old for gods sake . She’s 3, what exactly were Those pitiful people thinking. It’s not a horror flick and she won’t be happy with chicken….. So oh my god I’m so afraid she may hurt us,
OR Maybe Shes a KID she may just order food.

  15. It is or has been painful enough for this sweet little angel how do you ignorant KFC customers and employees survive. This very well can happen to you. I know I Ranting I can go on. Opera you should have a special . ” why are you a coward.

  16. They should of ask those people to leave KFC… Not the little girl and her family. It was not her fault that she got attack by a dog and got those scares, and had a feeding tub! Shame on those mean people and KFC. They should pay something after that. But that that still does not make up for what happen to the family. This employees need to have better training specially in this circumstance… Because maybe it can come up again or something like it! All restaurant should do this! So it wont happen again!
